Abstract

Jerawat adalah peradangan kronis pada kulit yang umumnya dipicu oleh Propionibacterium acnes. Perawatan jerawat yang menggunakan obat-obatan sintetis cenderung menimbulkan efek samping dan resistensi. Salah satu alternatifnya yaitu dengan produk probiotik hasil fermentasi seperti teh kombucha, yang potensinya dapat ditingkatkan dengan menambahkan kulit kayu kemiri selama proses fermentasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimasi pembuatan kombucha kulit kayu kemiri dan menguji aktivitas antibakterinya terhadap P. acnes. Tahapan metode diawali dengan fermentasi kombucha sebanyak 5 replikasi dengan perbandingan simplisia daun teh:kulit kayu kemiri antara lain 8:0 gram; 6:2 gram; 4;4 gram; 2:6 gram; dan 0:8 gram. Semua kombucha kemudian diuji aktivitas antibakterinya menggunakan metode mikrodilusi. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa kombucha dengan perbandingan 4:4 memiliki nilai kadar hambat minimal (KHM) yang tergolong sangat kuat yaitu 62,5 μg/mL serta memiliki aktivitas terbaik karena dapat menghambat hingga 98,89%. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kombucha kulit kemiri dapat dikembangkan sebagai perawatan kulit antijerawat.
